New Work and Some Itty Bitty Sizes »

This week I wanted to work on some smaller pieces for my next few shows. I’m hoping that having some lower price points at art fairs might be beneficial. I also finished some of my regular sized work.

Tell me what you think – especially if you have any opinions on small-sized paintings and their marketability.

Horses and Chickens and Goats, Oh My! »

It is a dream of mine to live on a little hobby farm. I would grow a huge vegetable garden and surround the place with flowers. I would want to have mini goats, a few cows and horses, ducks, chickens (of course), cats, dogs and maybe a few peacocks. I’d also love to be able to take in rescue animals.

I know that the work and cost of a place like this would be astronomical, which is why it is just a dream. If I ever win the lottery, however, hobby farm, here I come!

My farm fantasy is showing up in my artwork lately. Here are some of the animal paintings I am working on.

Cool Artist »

I’ve been doing a ton of research lately and came across this artist named Kristen Flemington. She has a series on her website called ‘a trust in winged things.’ The idea is so simple (combining drawing with photography), yet she executes it brilliantly.

Check it out!

Reshot, Redone and a Whopper of a Fish »

Here is a little potpourri of paintings I have been meaning to re-work, re-photograph or just plain forgot to put on the website. Some are very new and some were done earlier this summer.

Oh, and I try to keep my blog about my artwork and not my personal life, but I had to include this photo of the fish I caught last week. Can’t wait to paint him!

Lilies and Hostas and Asters, Oh My! »

Ok, obviously I love plants, but when the lilies and hostas and asters start to bloom, this Minnesota gal gets a twinge of dread. Summer is coming to a close. Ugh!

Well, I’m trying to embrace it. Here are two new paintings – one of which is an abstract of my hostas along the garage.
